Migrant Birds And Raptors Galore!

The past two weeks have been memorable not only for very rare birds but for numbers of scarce and common migrants. Our YCN tours have certainly come up smelling of roses, most memorably on 19th September, when our Wolds and Coast tour crashed headlong into the best day at Spurn all year!

2014 has been an excellent year for migrant Honey Buzzards at Flamborough.Their habit of flying low on migration makes them tricky to see and even more difficult to ‘twitch’. So it was with relief that I saw one drift into distant view over Old Fall on the 15th.
