Arctic songbirds at Bempton RSPB
Bempton RSPB has stolen the show for Arctic birds this week with up to 3 male Lapland Buntings singing, a lovely group of 30 Twite and today the rarest of the bunch - 2 Shore Larks joined the flock, found by local birder Andy Hood. As we watched these great birds we were also treated to singing Corn Buntings, Reed Buntings, Yellowhammer and Linnets. A fantastic combination of migrant birds on the way to the Artcic Tundra and local farmland species starting to breed. Who knows what's next in this field; keep your eyes out for Woodlark....
