Bird Migration Workshops

  • Flamborough Headland South Landing

Ever wondered how bird migration works and how amazing it would be to witness this spectacle yourself, with a chance to see some of these beautiful and delicate travellers in the hand?

These exclusive days will be based at Yorkshire Wildlife Trust’s Living Seas Centre (LSC) at South Landing, Flamborough. The focus will be on learning in a relaxed exciting environment from local experts. Staff from Yorkshire Coast Nature, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and Flamborough Bird Observatory will be leading the day. Subjects to explore and activities include:

  • The mechanics of bird migration how do they do it, an indoor short talk
  • Bird identification walk in woods, cliff tops and beaches of Flamborough Headland
  • Bird ringing demonstration in the LSC
  • Where to go birding on Flamborough Headland, a short talk on the best sites at the best time of year

What’s included: Expert guides throughout the day, bird identification tour, exclusive access to ringing demonstration, in depth lecture and use of the LSC for the group.   

Dates: April 23rd, May 6th, Sept 23rd, October 22nd, each day starts at 0830 and finishes approximately 5pm
