Birding Discovery Day - Flamborough Headland - Spring Migration
Spring on the spectacular coast of East and North Yorkshire is a great time for many species, from migrant songbirds and shorebirds to thousands of nesting seabirds!
Join expert local professional guide Mark Pearson at these iconic sites for a unique birding day on the Yorkshire coast in spring. Flamborough and Bempton are justifiably famous for a wide range of spring delights, with floods of returning long-distance migrants from Africa and Southern Europe and plenty more pit-stopping on their way to Scandinavia and the Arctic! Expect everything from various warblers and songbirds to raptors, wildfowl, hirundines and many thousands of seabirds (including Puffins, Gannets, Guillemots, Razorbills and more), and with a little luck, a scarcity or two - on recent spring discovery days we've bumped into Wryneck, Red-backed Shrike, Rosy Starling and other wanderers!
We'll visit the most productive habitats and it may well be a combination of several the above locations.... expect to learn a lot first-hand in a small team in the thick of the action! Please note: transport is not provided on this day tour. All sites will be in close proximity to the meeting point to be arranged.
These exclusive one-day tours are designed for everyone - from beginners to the more experienced – who'd like be part of small (maximum of four) group tour, creating a real 'team' adventure.

Had a fabulous day with Mark last Friday at Flamborough. Saw Siberian Chiffchaff and Dusky Warbler, both first timers for me. I can thoroughly recommend Mark’s Yorkshire Coast Nature trips, whether you are a keen birder or don’t know a sparrow from an owl you’ll still have a great day. He has an encyclopaedic knowledge of all things birding, he imparts it with passion, enthusiasm and humour. Neither myself nor my wife are in the first full flush of youth yet were able to cope with the pace of the day and will definitely book more. Sandy Frew
