  • East and North Yorkshire

Based at Highfield Farm, this 2.5-day tour focuses on the wonderful diversity of bird species in East and North Yorkshire. Combining both photography and birding, you will have the unique opportunity to learn from two experts.

Spring is a fantastic time for arriving songbirds and breeding waders. In the forests and moorland Redstarts, Whinchats, Ring Ouzels and Pied Flycatchers can be seen along with the majestic Northern Goshawk. Nearby nesting Golden Plover, Lapwing, Curlew and Snipe flourish amongst the heather and mosses of the beautiful North York Moors National Park

On Flamborough Headland the Puffins, Razorbills, Guillemots, Kittiwakes, Shags and Gannets have arrived back to nest in their thousands providing fantastic photographic opportunities.

Nearby at Top Hill Low nature reserve spring is a great time to watch fantastic birds such as Barn Owls amongst the many newly arrived wetland warblers such as Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Grasshopper Warbler and Cettis Warbler.
