Its cousin the Red Grouse is the most abundant species and they can be regularly seen displaying at the roadside. Join our local expert guide in search of these great birds and much more.

Other key birds on this itinerary include autumn passage visitors such as Ring Ouzel, whilst Dipper and Grey Wagtail frequent the fast flowing rivers. On the higher ground there is a chance of finding the elusive Merlin which still nests in the area and Short-eared Owl.
