Yorkshire Coast Nature

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Outbreak Information

The coronavirus COVID-19 is having an unprecedented effect on all of our lives. Families, businesses, workers and organisations are facing challenges on a daily basis not been seen by most of us in our lifetime.

Yorkshire Coast Nature is also facing disruption to our operations beyond anything that could have been anticipated in ordinary times. During these uncertain times we wanted to let all our clients and customers know that we are following current British Government advice and NHS recommendations and guidelines. Yorkshire Coast Nature are registered under the Visit England scheme 'We're good to go' scheme.

The “We’re Good To Go” industry standard mark is a self-assessment scheme that has been designed by VisitEngland in partnership with the national tourist organisations Tourism Northern Ireland, VisitScotland and Visit Wales to provide a ‘ring of confidence’ for all sectors of the tourism industry, as well as reassurance to visitors that businesses have clear processes in place and are following industry and Government COVID-19 guidance on cleanliness and social distancing.

Trips which can go ahead legally during local or national restrictions will follow risk assessment protocols to ensure you stay safe on our tour. A detailed risk assessment relating to your tour will be sent to you by email when you book. Throughout this challenging year we have received excellent feedback from our clients on the way we have kept our small group trips going in a safe environment.

Any clients who book a trip which then has to be postponed due to new government restrictions will receive a credit note valid for two years which will allow you to re-book your trip for a future date

When decisions are made to postpone any tours we get in touch with you directly to make alternative arrangements. We understand that this is a stressful time for all and if you have any questions or queries we encourage you to contact us at regarding all booking enquiries.

We would like to wish you all the very best during this time of uncertainty and on behalf of the YCN team thank you all for your patience, understanding and support.

Best Wishes

Richard Baines and Steve Race

Yorkshire Coast Nature (YCN) is a small independent nature tourism company. Every member of our team lives locally and is passionate about wildlife. Yorkshire Coast Nature offers a variety of activity tours, events and workshops. We provide everything from short tours aimed at those interested in specific areas, species or photography to longer holidays on which you can experience a wide range of the species and landscapes of the Yorkshire coast.

Everyone is welcome, from beginners to the more experienced. In order to give you the maximum personal attention, as well as to minimise disturbance to wildlife, our longer tours cater for small groups only.

We are also happy to arrange bespoke tours for individuals and small groups – just contact us with your requests.

Whichever event you choose, we aim to please you with relaxed and enjoyable experiences of Yorkshire’s wildlife and habitats. We are sure that you will take home wonderful memories.

Our tour and events leaders and tutors are highly experienced in the field of natural history and enjoy sharing their knowledge with others. They are friendly, adaptable and sensitive to the needs of individual clients. We are confident that you will enjoy their company as well as their expertise!

In our prints gallery we have a wide selection of incredible wildlife images for you to browse through and purchase. Many of these are also available to buy as postcards. We have also produced, in conjunction with two well-known wildlife artists, a large presentation map of Flamborough Headland printed on quality canvas. For those wishing to explore the area independently, attractive packs of wildlife walk cards are available.
