Bhutan - Birding And Wildlife Spring 2024

Birds and Wildlife in the Land of the Thunder Dragon

Bhutan - Birding And Wildlife Spring 2024

Birds and Wildlife in the Land of the Thunder Dragon

April 26th - May 17th 2024

YCN are excited to be working with Indus Experinces to bring you the trip of a lifetime!

The Kingdom of Bhutan is a small landlocked country located in the southern foothills of the Himalayan mountain range. It is a sovereign nation, with a total land area of 38,394 km² and a total population of only 735,553 (2017).

This fabulous country is listed as one among the top 10 biodiversity hot spots in the world. Total forest coverage is an impressive 70% of the country's total area.

A wide range of rare and endangered birds and wildlife can be found frequenting the dense jungles and high mountains of Bhutan. Due to the country’s conservation efforts and its unspoiled natural environment Bhutan supports thriving populations of some of the rarest animals on earth and has thus been classified as one of the last biodiversity hotspots in the world.

On our joint trip with Yorkshire Coast Nature, Indus Experinces and the best Bhutanese Birding guides, there will be great birding and wildlife watching in search of fantastic encounters and speciality species in the jungles, mountains and river valleys of Bhutan. Incredible scenery, optional cultural visits to sacred temples and a short stay in Kathmandu.

Leaders Richard Baines and Norbu, Birding Bhutan.

Guest numbers will be limited to 10.

Cost £8,180/person sharing. Single supplement £655.00

Bhutan - Birding and Wildlife Spring 2024

Richard Baines PGdip MCIEEM

Company Director And Birding/Wildlife Guide

Richard’s love of birds and wildlife started at age nine when he watched wide eyed as a charm of European Goldfinch fed on a thistle within a few feet of him in the grounds of his primary school. The next day he was busy drawing the flock in his art class./tutors/2/richard-baines-pgdip-mcieem
