Birding Discovery Day - Estuary Waders & Raptors

The Humber estuary is a fantastic place for wildlife and a magnet for a host of wading birds over the winter. Vast flocks gather to feed on the nutritious mud, providing a spectacular display. Thousands of Golden Plovers create murmurations, Bar-tailed Godwits and Black-tailed Godwits, Eurasian Curlews, Common Redshank, Grey Plover, Dunlin, Ringed Plovers and many more!

Over the adjacent farmland and salt marsh raptors such as Hen Harrier, Peregrine, Merlin and Short-eared Owl are seen regularly. A brisk walk along the riverbank is sure to give a great outlook on a spectacular Yorkshire habitat.

Join Margaret or Richard on this great day out. Ideal for anyone wishing to learn more about bird identification, marvel at the big flocks of waders and see some very cool raptors!
