2024 Diving Gannet Photography Spectacular
- Bempton Cliffs
- from £135.00 (see pricing table below)
Join Steve Race, Yorkshire Coast Nature's award-winning wildlife photographer on this 6-hour photography experience underneath the amazing seabird colonies of Flamborough Headland and Bempton Cliffs. This experience consists of two diving gannet photography sessions in one trip. We will deliver the first session and then take time to review images and techniques before then delivering a second diving gannet session to capture even more images of this incredible wildlife spectacle. The experience will be tailored towards photographers of all abilities including professional photographers who would like to expand their portfolio.
Gannets dive in to the water at up to speeds of 60mph to catch their prey, which includes large fish such as Mackerel, Pollock and Herring. Our "Diving Gannet Photography Trips" are designed to capture images of these incredible birds as they gather together in feeding frenzies, diving in to the sea in their hundreds.
We will be departing from Bridlington Harbour and sailing around Flamborough Headland and then along to Bempton Cliffs. We will be chumming (throwing dead fish) to encourage the Gannets to dive close to the boat, giving us excellent opportunities to capture images of these stunning birds diving in to the sea, surfacing with their fish and often fighting each other over their catch.
Included: Boat fee, chumming, and tuition.
Not included: Harbour car park fee, food or accommodation.
Group size: 12 maximum.
Please note: If you are a club, group or society wishing to book the boat for a private charter this can be arranged, please call the YCN office on 01723 865498 for details.
