Throughout the spring months the Yorkshire Coast is a hotspot for bird migration

Our knowledge of the Yorkshire Coast will take you to the best places along this beautiful coastline ensuring your chances of obtaining some lovely images and finding some key spring bird species.

Spring is a fantastic time for arriving songbirds and breeding waders. In the forests and moorland Redstarts, Whinchats, Ring Ouzels and Pied Flycatchers can be seen along with the majestic Northern Goshawk. Nearby nesting Golden Plover, Lapwing, Curlew and Snipe flourish amongst the heather and mosses of the beautiful North York Moors National Park.

On Flamborough Headland the Puffins, Razorbills, Guillemots, Kittiwakes, Shags and Gannets have arrived back to nest in their thousands providing fantastic photographic opportunities.

At Wykeham Lakes, Nr Scarborough spring is a great time to find fantastic birds such as Barn Owls amongst the many newly arrived wetland warblers such as Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Grasshopper Warbler and Cettis Warbler.

This experience is ideal for those wanting to learn more about their cameras and for gaining a good understanding of the principles and technique involved in wildlife photography and bird watching. Shutter speed, ISO settings, aperture, depth of field, angles, composition and approaching subjects are all covered. This experience is also ideal for more experienced photographers looking to find and photograph new species and learn about fieldcraft and behaviours of these different species.

Sometimes the weather can be challenging on the Yorkshire Coast as we  look at these elements, so we work on how to adjust the camera settings to compensate.
