The Humber estuary is a fantastic place for wildlife and a magnet for a host of wading birds over the winter. Vast flocks gather to feed on the nutritious mud, providing a spectacular display. Thousands of Golden Plovers create murmurations, Bar-tailed Godwits and Black-tailed Godwits, Eurasian Curlews, Common Redshank, Grey Plover, Dunlin, Ringed Plovers and many more!
Over the adjacent farmland and salt marsh raptors such as Marsh Harrier, Hen Harrier, Peregrine, Merlin, Barn Owl and Short-eared Owl are seen regularly. A brisk walk along the riverbank is sure to give a great outlook on a spectacular Yorkshire habitat.
Join Margaret or Richard on this great day out. Ideal for anyone wishing to learn more about bird identification, marvel at the big flocks of waders and see some very cool raptors!
These exclusive one-day tours are designed for everyone - from beginners to the more experienced – who'd like be part of small group tour, creating a real 'team' adventure. Meeting Place; Either Paull Holme Strays Thorngumbald Rd, Hull or Weeton. Map and directions sent after a booking is made. Please be aware this day may involve walking up to five miles during the day with many stops and breaks. You will need to drive your own car on this tour.
