Birding Discovery Day - Coastal Spring 2022

  • East and North Yorkshire

Spring on the spectacular coast of East and North Yorkshire is a great time for many species, from migrant songbirds and shorebirds to thousands of nesting seabirds!

Join expert local professional guide Mark Pearson at these iconic sites for a unique birding day on the Yorkshire coast in spring. Flamborough Headland and Bempton are justifiably famous for a wide range of spring delights, with floods of returning long-distance migrants from Africa and Southern Europe and plenty more pit-stopping on their way to Scandinavia and the Arctic! Expect everything from various warblers and songbirds to raptors, wildfowl, hirundines and many thousands of seabirds (including Puffins, Gannets, Guillemots, Razorbills and more), and with a little luck, a scarcity or two - on recent spring discovery days we've bumped into Red-backed Shrike, Rosy Starling and other wanderers!

We'll visit the most productive habitats and it may well be a combination of several the above locations.... expect to learn a lot first-hand in a small team in the thick of the action! Please note: transport is not provided on this day tour. All sites will be in close proximity to the meeting point to be arranged.

These exclusive one-day tours are designed for everyone - from beginners to the more experienced – who'd like be part of small (maximum of four) group tour, creating a real 'team' adventure.

  • Professional, local expert guide with a lifetime of birding knowledge in Yorkshire
