Located in Ripon, North Yorkshire, on the Studley Royal Park Estate owned by the National Trust since 1983, is the Studley Royal Deer Park home to over 500 red, fallow and sika deer.

Wildlife Sightings - August 2015

The first big rare bird (not many bigger than this one) of the month was at Spurn on the 3rd where a juvenile Black Stork arrived sporting a French Darvic ring.

Waders were on the move at coastal watch points early in the month with Wood Sandpiper at Flamborough, Avocet, Black-tailed Godwit and Greenshank at Filey and best of all a soon to be long-staying White-rumped Sandpiper at Beacon Ponds, Spurn.
